On the eve of the Pittsburgh Riveters SC first-ever postseason appearance, the squad's Head Coach, Scott Gibson sat down with Pittsburgh Soccer Now's John Krysinsky for an insightful interview session.
Having been there to help foster the start and as a constant in the incremental growth and ascension of the Riverhounds Development Academy, Gibson was tabbed to take the role as the first-ever coach of W League League squad that would play at Highmark Stadium and generate a new level of excitement for women's soccer.
Among topics Gibson discusses includes:
- Whirlwind first season at helm
- Ups and downs of first-ever campaign
- Building a team identity and style of play as Gibson cites: "You build culture, you build identity, and that kind of bleeds into how you play"
- Roster Building
- Thoughts on upcoming postseason match vs Minnesota Aurora and hosting Central Conference Semifinals and hoping to reach Sunday night's final
and much more...
