Former Pitt and North Allegheny standout Sarah Schupansky looks forward to joining NWSL's Gotham FC
The first episode of Sounding Off on Soccer Podcast for the New Year features a special guest -- former Pitt and North Allegheny standout Sarah Schupansky -- joining Pittsburgh Soccer Now's John Krysinsky.
Schupansky signed a two-year deal, through the 2026 NWSL season with a club option for the 2027 season, with Gotham FC.
Sarah discusses her soccer journey and much more, including the hectic past couple of months transitioning from completing her senior season and college career at Pitt to taking part in the process of signing on with an agent and earning her first pro contract as a free agent as NWSL eliminated all drafts, collegiate and expansion, last summer upon the ratification of a new collective bargaining agreement. **
Schupansky is coming off a collegiate season where she led the entire NCAA with 15 assists. Throughout five seasons with the Pittsburgh Panthers, she scored 32 goals and was the all-time leader in assists with 43. In 2023, she was named to the All-ACC First Team, making her the first-ever Panther to be named to the list.
